Announcing the Winners of the 2026 Takoma Torch Satire Writing Contest

In Takoma Park, everyone is a winner.

But Montgomery Blair High School is not in Takoma Park. Sorry, rules are rules.

The winners of 2026 Takoma Torch Satire Writing Contest are as follows:

1st Place – $300 – (with 30% of the vote): “New MCPS Policy Regarding Graphite-Based Writing Implements” By Zoe Gorbachev

2nd Place – $150 – (with 27.7% of the vote): “No More New Neighbors” By Daneel Kutsenko

3rd Place – $50 – (with 21.5% of the vote): “Sligo Creek To Be Filled With Beer For St. Patrick’s Day” by Colm Konyndyk
