TAKOMA PARK, MD – National anti-development icon Nimbee has thrown himself into the upcoming local election in Takoma Park by announcing his own questionnaire to determine which candidates will earn his endorsement.
“Nimbee really cares about keeping Takoma Park exactly the same, so naturally he wants to make endorsements of candidates who support that agenda,” said Nimbee’s beekeeper, Han E. Combs. “Just like the Apple Ballot Endorsement is to Board of Education candidates, the Honey Ballot is the most sought after endorsement in Takoma Park.”
The 17-part questionnaire is available to all candidates running for mayor or city council in Takoma Park. Topics range from development to infrastructure and tax policy and are designed to help voters see which candidates love Takoma Park more by agreeing with his leading questions.
“Nimbee wanted to lay out his vision for the community of Takoma – call it his ‘Community Vision,’ if you will – a vision where we turn a blind eye to change,” said Combs. “Are the questions totally disingenuous and misleading? Yes. But will candidates actually respond to them? Maybe.”
Questionnaires are due back to Nimbee in writing at the Takoma Park Street Festival on October 6th. You can find Nimbee at his booth, where he plans to rally for a preemptive recall of any election results he won’t like.
