Residents expressed outrage over the outlet\u2019s seemingly erratic name changes, with many lamenting the loss of the beloved &#8220;Bethesda Beat&#8221; name, despite simultaneously admitting they hadn\u2019t read an article since 2014.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI never fully understood what MoCo 360 even means?\u201d said lifelong Bethesda resident Sandra Carmichael, who claims the publication stopped representing her values when they started covering Silver Spring and Germantown. \u201cThis isn\u2019t \u2018Montgomery County Beat.\u2019 It\u2019s \u2018Bethesda Beat.\u2019 Nobody cares about 360 degrees\u2014we only care about the five blocks around our favorite parking garage!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Facing criticism from all directions, the editors launched a public survey to determine a new name. Suggestions ranged from the uninspired (\u201cBethesda News\u201d) to the hyper-nostalgic (\u201cBethesda Yesterday\u201d).
